Solutions for lawyers, by lawyers

line.png

aLocum provides workforce and workload solutions for law firms, sole practitioners and corporate/government inhouse legal teams.  It was borne of an idea to support law practices and teams with resourcing during busy periods or periods of leave, and at the same time to support individual lawyers looking to work differently.

The law is busy. It generates burnout.

For firms, practices and inhouse teams, holidays are important. Being able to take time off when you need to, is important. Having ad hoc support at your fingertips for leave coverage, projects, backlog or overflow work, is important.

For lawyers individually, having true flexibility and work/life balance is important.  And sometimes, different ways of working and variety are also important.

aLocum supports lawyers with solutions in all of these instances and more.

How it works

Looking for locum support?

aLocum offers a simple, streamlined process for exploring the option of, or requesting, locum support.  Just fill in the form below and our team will reach out to you and then arrange for us to learn more about your organisation, the support you require and how we can best assist.

From there, our aLocum team will identify suitable support from our database of credentialed locums and arrange to connect you to them. We can arrange through our partner Emplawyer™ to support you around the various contractual appointment options if required.

Our fees and charges are determined by reference to the nature of the support you require, the duration of that support and the way in which that support is appointed. aLocum will discuss our fees and charges with you up front and clearly.

aLocum does not engage or employ our locum participants.  A locum will become either a contractor or an employee (as agreed between you) of your business or organisation.

aLocum operates across Australia.  Regardless of your location, we offer a range of locum support options.

Interested in locum work?

Register with aLocum as a participant.  There are 2 registration options, one is free and the other (for our Priority Participants) is subject to an annual fee.

To register as a participant for free, you can simply fill in the registration form and you will be put into our database.  When a placement opportunity is not filled by a Priority Participant, if we think the placement opportunity could suit you, we will reach out to you.

Our paid registration option enables participants to register as a Priority Participant.  This participation option involves payment of an annual fee (currently $275 including GST) which entitles you to:

  • Priority access to all suitable placement opportunities (suitable Priority Participants will be offered the opportunity to be submitted for a placement before that opportunity is offered to a free participant) within the annual participation period.

  • A 30 minute discovery e-meeting with our team during which we take the time to learn who you are, what your skills and goals are, what type/s of arrangements you are looking for, your availability etc.  Following registration we will contact you with details on how you can book your discovery meeting with us.

  • Participate in our aLocum CPD program (which includes all 3 compulsory topics) without further charge.

Please note that an annual participation period (and the associated Priority Participation fee, where applicable) begins on 1 July each year until 30 June the following year.

aLocum operates nationally.  Where a placement opportunity is remote-compatible, we encourage and support remote working arrangements.  Some placements, though, will be location-specific and will require a participant’s physical attendance (whether wholly or partially).  If you have a specific preference for working remotely, please let us know when you register.

Regardless of your participation type (whether free or priority), we will never share your details with a third party, or put you forward for a placement, unless you first agree for us to.
